This fire festival is based on the ancient feast from the Celtic tradition. Beltane represents the peak of spring and all things, love, lust, passion and merry. In modern day its a time to celebrate the love of all the joy and beauty of life during a time of year that is so lush and blooming. There is so much folklore about Beltane or May Eve I could read the magical stories all day long. It is closely connected with the Fae as it said they are easier to encounter on the night of May Eve. In a more modern belief the Green Man/Horned God and the May Queen/Goddess are the primary symbols of Beltane as their union is what springs us forward into the abundance of summer.
