The goldenrods burst. The corn and wheat is tall, ready to make breads. Fields that were once green turned gold in the thick heat. Sunflowers stand tall and hang their heavy heads toward the sun. Ripe blackberries sparkle like gems under the bramble. And the garden vegetables are finally taken home in the baskets to nurture our bodies. Summer into fall in an amber, hot haze.
